PIANO & PERCUSSION LESSONS

Do you have references?
Yes - please drop me a line & I'll follow up ASAP.

In which areas of Kansas City do you teach?
Here's a map which outlines the areas where
I teach. The boundaries are 47th St. to the north,
95th St. to the south, Troost Ave. to the east &
     Renner Blvd. to the west.

What age is the best age to begin lessons?
Informal lessons may start around age 3 - the goal
should be to teach your child to recognize high &
low tones, gain eye / hand coordination, identify
beats & clap rhythms (not become the next
musical prodigy!). Formal lessons may start
     between ages 5 - 9.
Do you teach adults?
Sure. I teach formal lessons or teach specifically
what you'd like to learn, e.g. your favorite song.
What are your fees for lessons?
Fees are $20 for a 30 minute lesson.
What payment methods do you accept?
Checks, MasterCard, Visa & cash. Payment is due
the first lesson of the month for that month's
     lessons.
Do you offer any discounts for lessons?
Yes! For every student you refer who pays for
at least one month's worth of lessons, you will
receive a free lesson. There is no limit to this
     discount.

Where should I purchase a piano or drumset?
Because pianos & drumsets can be very expensive,
it's best to start with a used instrument. Craigslist
is a good place to start if you know what you're
looking for. In addition, there are several electric
pianos that are reasonably priced you may want to
check out. I'm happy to help locate an instrument -
     just ask!
Where should I purchase lesson books?
Luyben Music is a wonderful local store. You can
also buy lesson books online - I like sheet music
plus for piano books & Steve Weiss music  for
     percussion books.
